General Information

Straatman Koster advocaten was founded by Thijs Straatman (commercial property and procurement) and Wilfried Koster (commercial property) in February 2006. Both were senior associates with Houthoff Buruma and ready for partnership but instead preferred independence and a more entrepreneurial setting and thus started their own firm. In 2007 the firm handled a heavy case load, worked on its reputation and set up an efficient organisation. At the end of 2007 agreement was reached with Frederik van Nouhuys (procurement and construction). At that time Frederik was a senior associate with De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek. Since then, 11 lawyers have joined the firm in the fields of procurement, construction, rental law, commercial property law, land policy and urban planning. Straatman Koster advocaten is an independent niche firm and has a strong record in the fields of (i) commercial property law and real estate, (ii) construction and engineering, (iii) public procurement and state aid (iv) environmental law and (v) rental law. Straatman Koster advocaten acts on behalf of (inter alia) property developers, construction companies, architects, engineering firms, investors, governmental and financial institutions
